The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (established in 1956) is one of the premier medical institutions of the country. The Institute awards its own medical degrees and other academic distinctions. Every year AIIMS conducts common medical entrance exam for UG Medical admissions (only for AIIMS Institutes).

AIIMS 2018 entrance examination: Dates Schedule

Candidate can register for AIIMs MBBS application form from 5th February 2018 to 5th March 2018 (5:00 PM).

AIIMS MBBS entrance exam will be held on 26th May 2018 & 27th May 2018 with two shifts per day i.e morning shift from 9:00am to 12:30pm and evening shift from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. Declaration of results will be updated on the official website by 18th June 2018.

Candidates will choose the choice of exam city from the 155 cities available. For each state, city options will be displayed indicating total available/occupied seats. 9 AIIMS Institutes in New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Guntur and Nagpur Institutes are Participating.

AIIMS will offer admissions to a total of 807 MBBS seats with the two new AIIMS admitting a batch of 50 MBBS students each.

Fee Details:

Candidates will be required to pay the requisite application fee. The payment can be made online through credit/debit/net banking methods. For General and OBC category candidates will have to pay Rs 1,500/- and those belonging to SC/ST category will have to pay Rs 1,200/-. OPH category candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate should have completed minimum 17 years of age as of December 31, 2018. Candidate should have passed Intermediate physics, chemistry biology and english scoring atleast 50 percent marks of general category, 45 percent marks of obc category and 40 percent marks of SC / ST category.

AIIMS 2018 Exam Pattern:

The AIIMS MBBS exam will be conducted through CBT (Computer Based Test)  The duration of exam shall be 3 ½ hours. Online CBT test will be held on 26th May 2018 & 27th May 2018 with two shifts per day i.e morning shift from 9:00am to 12:30pm and evening shift from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. Questions will be Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason Assertion type) and will be provided either in English or in Hindi language according to the choice of candidates. For each correct answer will get score of One mark. For each wrong answer 1/3 mark will be deducted. The AIIMS MBBS exam consist of  200 questions, with 60 questions asked each subjects from  Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and 10 questions each from General Knowledge and Aptitude & Logical Thinking.

GK & General Awareness: Geography, History, India Independence, Science,  International Organizations, Computer Science, Current Affairs.

Physics: Electricity,  Circular Motion, Electromagnetic Induction,  Electricity, Electronic Devices, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Measurement, Motion, Nuclear Physics,  first law of Thermodynamics, Physics of the Atom: Thermodynamics: Work and heat, Solids, Wave Motion: Optics, etc.

Chemistry: General & Inorganic Chemistry, Molecule and Chemical Bond, Periodic Properties of Elements, Structure of Atom, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry of Elements and Compounds, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Equilibrium, Energetic, State of Matter, etc.

Zoology: Anatomy and Physiology, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life, Genetics and Evolution (Fundamentals only), Histology, Reproductive System, etc.

Botany: Absorption and cell water relations, transport of water and minerals, Anatomy and Physiology of Plants, Meristems-Plant growth and development, Botany and Human Welfare, Importance, History, Factors and mechanism, Internal structure of dicot and monocot leaves photosynthesis, Internal and external regulators of growth and development in plants, Internal structure of dicot and monocot roots, Internal structure of stem and secondary growth, Tropic and turgor movements, Transpiration & respiration, Xylem and Phloem-their cell elements and functions, etc.
